Service: Smart decision aid - Determining if a case is a scam or not

Responsible organisation: National Police Lab Artificial Intelligence (Central-Government)

The National Internet Reporting Centre receives 42,000 reports of buying and selling fraud every year. In about 10,000 cases, after studying a police officer, it turns out that this is not a criminal offence. The 'smart decision aid' helps determine whether this is a scam and links this directly back to the declarant. The decision aid also offers an action perspective if it turns out that they have not been scammed.
